Have a fun, Quilty week!
I've joined the Jolly Bar 4 Quilt Along, sponsored by the Fat Quarter Shop. What's a Jolly Bar you ask? It's sold exclusively at the Fat Quarter Shop. It's a pack of each fabric in a collection, usually about 42 pieces, 5" X 10". Kimberly Jolly and her husband Kevin are the owners of Fat Quarter Shop, hence the name Jolly Bar.
I'm so excited about this, I love quilt alongs :)
I hope you'll join me!
More Holland Pouches by Centerstreet Quilts! I love making them, but honestly.... I was making too many at a time to really enjoy the process.
One of my favorite steps of making these pouches, is choosing the fabric, the trim and the zippers and zipper pulls. I used to stress about what fabric to use as the lining, but it really isn't very visible. That's it for all my Holland Pouches for now. I would prefer making only one or two at a time from now on. I really do love them!
Oh, and I made each of my grandchildren who visited at Christmas a pillow case, the burrito style, tutorial here.
I have been having fun sewing Holland Pouches, the pattern is by Centerstreet Quilts.
These are the fabric requirements for the three pouches. I've made all the sizes and have been making the small pouches in this post.
The girl I made this one for loves the color yellow!Let me begin by making a confession....I love Ruby Star Society!!!
I think the designers used to work for Cotton and Steel.
I immediately fell in love with this line of fabric called Stay Gold.
I didn't buy the whole fat quarter bundle, just chose my favorites.
Here's a better look.
Well, here's my gorgeous quilt completely finished!
It measures 75" X 92".
I bought this Riley Blake panel at my local quilt shop before Christmas last year. It reminded me so much of my Christmases growing up as a child. So.....much.....snow! When everything is covered with a fresh coat of a foot or more of snow, it's so peaceful.
The pop of color on the white/gray background is so stunning!
I watched Camille Roskelly's trunk show on the Fat Quarter Shop's you tube about a month ago. I found it very inspiring. One of things that I noticed is that her favorite pattern for machine quilting her quilts is the crosshatch and Baptist fan. I can machine quilt some of my quilts in the crosshatch design :)
This is my first Christmas quilt that I'm quilting for myself.
This Riley Blake panel is called "Christmas Time is Here" and it's very soft!
I think it looks great right here!
Or maybe slung across a chair like this....
I wanted some red pinky for the back, it looks so soft and inviting.
This is what the four cornerstones look like up close.
Twas the night before Christmas.
