Flower Power Throw quilt

I made this quilt for a baby gift, but I loved it so much, I just couldn't part with it!
I used "Gracie Girl" fabric by Lori Holt.
I've been hoarding it and thought that this was the perfect pattern to show off all the pretty prints.

The original quilt had 20 squares, I cut mine down to 12, for a baby size, 42" X 56".
The blocks are 14", and each one uses a fat quarter.

I bought some pretty, soft pink minky to back it with.

Are you familiar with the Britsh quilt magazine "Love Patchwork and Quilting"?
Each issue comes with a freebie, which is a bonus!
This book came with Issue #10.

It really is a perfect pattern to show off big prints!
The original quilt measures 56" X 70".
Jeni Baker is one of my favorites :)

Spelling Bee, A BC

I'm beyond thrilled to be participating in Lori Holt's (Miss Bee) Spelling Bee quilt along.
The Spelling Bee book is so versatile!
You can make the quilt on the cover, or anything in between, you're  only limited by your imagination.
The letters I show you on my blog have been made to make
three projects for the letters I've been assigned, I won't be showcasing the entire alphabet.
Hopefully my letters will inspire you to make some of your own :)

"a" is for apple

Another fun thing about this quilt along, are the photo shoots!

"B" is for bumblebee

"B" is for books

"B" is for bunny and butterfly

"c" is for candelabra

"c" is for crocheted cherries

"c" is for crow

I've been posting some of these photos on Instagram, but not all of them :)
I hope Miss Bee gives me an "A" :)

Neo's Birthday Dress

I loved making this dress so much (you can see it here), that I made it again for Neo's 7th birthday.

The fabric line is called "Menagerie" by Rifle Paper Co for Cotton and Steel.
I used some green vintage buttons :)

Three different colors of ribbon for the tie in the back.

Some pretty lace detail on the sleeve.

I love the camouflaged tigers, leopards and exotic birds!

I made a lined bag to match.

I love these bags so much, I created a board on Pinterest for them.
You can find the tutorial here.

Here's a photo of my grand daughter Neo in her dress,
she's such a beautiful little 7 year old!

It's a little big, but she'll grow into it :)

I'm going to make two more of these cute dresses for two more little grand daughters, before the end of the year :)
Stay tuned!

Cobblestone Quilt for Fat Quarter Shop

This is the Cobblestone quilt that I made for Fat Quarter Shop, for the Fat Quarter Cobblestone Quilt Along!
I am so thrilled to be one of the participants!

This quilt was fun to make and really easy :)

I love the way the blocks show off the cute fabric.
The fabric is "Savannah", by Stacie Bloomfield (Gingiber) for Moda fabric.

There were two cute, whimsical animal panels that came with the fat quarter bundle, I just had to include them in the quilt.

I used a soft silver minky for the back.

I sewed interfacing to the animal prints, turned them inside out and then sewed them to the block with a machine blanket stitch.

You can see the appliqued animals a little better before it was quilted.

This quilt measures 63 l/2" X 80 1/2".

I'm so in love with the soft colors!

This quilt would be great for a girl or a boy :)

This is me, with my beautiful Cobblestone quilt.

Thanks Fat Quarter Shop, for the fun Cobblestone quilt along!

Secret Quilt project

I'm working on a secret quilt project with this gorgeous fabric!
It's called Savannah, created by Gingiber, for Moda fabrics.
She designs for the Land of Nod, and you can see her website here.

I love this fabric!

I love the soft stylized animal prints!
Normally I don't choose animal prints, but I just couldn't resist this!

Even the selvages are cute and you can bet I saved it :)

Friday, October 6 is the big reveal!
See you then :)
