Table painted with "Annie Sloan" chalk paint.

I love painting furniture and have recently discovered some fabulous paint!  

It's Annie Sloan chalk paint, and it can paint over anything without having to strip finishes or prime the piece of furniture first.

I did quite a bit of research on it through you tube and pinterest.

The paint is a little pricey but since it goes such a long way, I think that it is a good investment.

I bought a can of "Florence", it's a perfect shade of turquoise!

Whoops, I almost forgot to take a photo of my little table before I started painting it!

It's not an expensive piece of furniture, but I really like it's shape :)

I guess that since the sun was shining through the windows, the color showed up a little lighter than it really is.
This is a pretty color too!

I sanded the table a little in areas to give it a distressed look.

Then I waxed the table and waited 24 hours before I buffed it.

The color still looks lighter than it actually is.

The table will go beside my red couch.

This is the true color of the table, it will add a nice "pop" of color to the room.

I just put the vase of flowers on the table, I'm looking for a little lamp to go there instead.

The Quilty Barn Along, Cool Threads

 I love this "cool threads" block!

I chose bright, happy fabrics for the thread.

This is block #5 of the silo barns.

I like the yellow barn with gray accents, that's the color of my bedroom.

What better place to "plant a garden", than at a farm!

I'm all caught up on my barns now :)

Princess Neo

I made one of my little grand daughters a princess dress, you can read about it here.

She has been wearing it every single day since she opened it!

Her mom makes her take it off when she eats so that there won't be any accidents :)

I promised you a photo of Neo in her princess gown, she just turned 3!

I asked her where her prince was today, and she said, "At work."

Adorable!!!!

The Quilty Barn Along, Patchwork Pumpkin

This quilty silo barn is #7 and it's perfect for October!

I think the teal barn color goes really well with the orange patchwork pumpkin.

The Quilty Barn Along, Canning Season

These barns are always so much fun to design and make!

Lori has some really cute vintage photos on her blog, and you can get the instructions for her mason jars and silo barn tutorial here.

I chose the colors for my mason jars very carefully :) 
This is silo barn #6.

The green jar is green beans, the orange is peaches, the yellow is corn, the purple is grape juice (yuck, I see some spiders got in there by accident.....), the aqua is strawberries, and the red is tomatoes.

Yummy!!!  I love home canning!

I auditioned my fabrics and here they are.

Here's my cute little silo barn!  

The fabric I used for the window is Japanese fabric, I fussy cut it from a busy print.

A pink barn, who knew?

Hallowe'en Pennant

I love pennants hanging in front of the fireplace.

I wanted one for Hallowe'en, so I bought some fabric on the quilt shop hop I went on a few weeks ago.

This little green monster fabric is so cute, and the purple fabric is crawling with spiders!

Here are the monsters in orange, along with some candy corn.

I really love this fabric!!!

This fabric and the two monster ones are by "Sweetwater".

They always have really different collections.

Here is the pennant on the fireplace.  

I think it looks really pretty but unfortunately, it doesn't look much like Hallowe'en.

Since the pennant has fall colors, I think I'll just keep it up throughout the Thanksgiving holiday.

A Princess Dress

This is Neo and Charlotte, two of my grand daughters.

They both like to dress as princesses :)

Charlotte has a lot of princess dresses, but Neo doesn't have any.

This is Neo in the dress I made for Charlotte. 

Neo's favorite princess is Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

I was very fortunate and found some super sparkly fabric to make a princess dress for Neo for her 3rd birthday.

My motto is the more sparkly, the better.

I spent days making this dress, there are 6 layers in the skirt!

I love the shirred overlay, it's made out of glittery tulle.

Do you think it looks like Belle's dress?

The bodice is lined with satin, but I didn't line the sleeves.

The hem is scalloped, I didn't have to do anything to it.

Do you notice the illusion of pink under the skirt?

I sewed three layers of pink tulle under the yellow lace skirt.

My cousin calls it crinoline, which brings back lots of girly memories from my childhood :)

I'm excited to see Neo's reaction when she opens her princess dress.

I think she will be in "princess heaven"!!!
