Perfect 10 Sampler quilt along, week 9

I really enjoyed making this Perfect 10 Sampler quilt!
I used a layer cake from Lori Holt's "Autumn Love"collection.
The quilt blocks were large, and they were easy to make.

I love the Perfect 10 Quilts book too!
There is a quilt pattern for every block in the sampler.
I love that!
I have so many quilt patterns now, I'm not sure which one I'm going to make first :)
To make this quilt, you need:
1. Perfect 10 Quilts book
2. Perfect 10 ruler
3. layer cake
4. background fabric
Easy Peasy!!!
It has been wonderful working with Fat Quarter Shop!
They're an awesome quilt shop, with a fabulous selection and unbelievable sales.

Please check out my fellow bloggers finished quilt tops.

Perfect 10 Sampler quilt along, week 8

Hi everyone!
These are the last two blocks of the quilt along.
Next week, I'll be showing you the finished quilt top!
I've been sewing with Lori Holt's "Autumn Love", and I love the tone of the colors in the fabric line.
This is the Rainbow Sherbet block, it finishes at 12 l/2" X 12 1/2".
Working with such large pieces makes sewing the blocks quick.

The sampler calls for 2 of these blocks.

This is the Rocky Road block, it measures 9 l/2"X9 l/2".

I really love all these colors together :)

This book really is awesome, and it's coil bound to make it easier to turn the pages back.
There are quilt patterns available in this book for each of the 14 blocks that have been showcased in the
Perfect 10 Sampler quilt along.
See you next week!

Perfect 10 Sampler quilt along, week 7

Welcome to week 7 of the Perfect 10 Sampler quilt along!
I made 6 Neopolitan blocks, 3 gray and 3 pink.
I used two 10" squares, one of each color.
Each block measures 6 l/2" square.

Next, is the Peaches and Cream block.
It was fun to make, just had to keep track of which direction the flying geese were.
It took four 10" squares, the block is huge,
it measures 16 1/2" square.

Here's the book and ruler, both available at Fat Quarter Shop.

Here's the finished quilt that Fat Quarter Shop made,
it's very modern looking.

Please check out these fabulous blogs
to see the fabric they're using for their blocks :)

Perfect 10 Sampler quilt along, week 6

Welcome to week 6 of the Perfect 10 Sampler quilt along,
from Fat Quarter Shop.
This is my Lemon Sorbet block, I made 2 of them.

The book shows you exactly how to divide up the 10" square,
and how to easily cut it with your Perfect 10 ruler.

This is my Mint Chocolate Chip block,
so easy to sew with the large half square triangles.

I may or may not have snacked on the chocolate while sewing...

I think that one of the most difficult things about this quilt, is figuring out how to photograph two blocks at once!

The Perfect 10 quilt book and ruler would make an excellent Christmas gift for the quilter in your life :)
Here's a photo of the quilt.
Mine will look similar, except it will have autumn colors.

Here's the page that tells you which week each block will be sewn.
If you go to Jolly Jabber, Fat Quarter Shop's blog every week, they will have a link to a pdf that will tell you how many of each block to make, and how many of each piece to cut.
The book tells you the measurements and much, much more!

Follow along with my fellow quilters!

Perfect 10 Sampler quilt along, week 5

Hello and welcome to Week 5 of the Perfect 10 Sampler QAL, sponsored by Fat Quarter Shop.
This is the Dutch Chocolate block.

It's big, it measures 18"X18", all made with half square triangles.

Next up is the French Vanilla block, the quilt calls for 4 of them.

I love the floral print from Lori Holt's Autumn Love line.

There are four blocks which call for four 10" squares.

The French Vanilla block measures 10 l/2" square.

It's going to be fun to incorporate these blocks into the Perfect 10 Sampler quilt, figuring out which color goes where!

To make this quilt, you will need the Perfect 10 quilt book, and the Perfect 10 ruler,
which makes cutting the blocks so easy and effortless.
You can find these supplies at Fat Quarter Shop here and here.

This is the schedule for the quilt along.
When you go to Fat Quarter Shop's blog, there will be a link each week that takes you to a pdf like this and it will tell you how many pieces of the week's block you need to make, etc.
You will still need the Perfect 10 book though.

Please check out all the other quilters who are quilting along :)

Perfect 10 Sampler quilt along, week 4

Welcome to our Perfect 10 Sampler Quilt Along!
I will be quilting along to make the Perfect 10 Sampler Quilt! This sampler quilt really is a taste of all the quilts, as blocks from all 16 quilts are included, so you’ll get to try them all.

This is what the Perfect 10 quilt book looks like.
It's awesome, with layouts for 16 quilts!
Week 4 brings you the "Cookies 'n Cream" block.
Yummy!!!

Next, we have the "cotton candy" block.
I didn't have any cotton candy for my photo shoot, so I used some of my favorite pink dishes :)

Here are the full fabric requirements to make
the Perfect 10 Sampler quilt.
You will need both the Perfect 10 Book and Ruler to make this sampler so grab yours at the Fat Quarter Shop!

Every week of our Perfect 10 Sampler quilt along
on the Jolly Jabber
there is a link to the "guide" that tells you how many blocks you need of each ice cream flavor, and how many pieces to cut.

Please check out everyone else's blocks :)

Perfect 10 Sampler quilt along, week 3

Welcome back to the Perfect 10 quilt along with
the Fat Quarter Shop.
These blocks are made with 10" layer cakes, from the book Perfect 10 and the Creative Grids Perfect 10 ruler.
They are quick and fun to make!

Week number 3 is brought to you by the "coffee" block.

The block takes two 10" squares and makes
two mirror image blocks.

I'm using Lori Holt's Autumn Love fabric line for my blocks.

Next, we have the "cookie dough" block.
Cookie dough ice cream is one of my favorites,
especially if it's Blue Bell ice cream!

Are you quilting along?
I hope so, these weekly blocks are very doable :)
All the information you need is on Fat Quarter Shop's blog,

Perfect 10 Sampler quilt along, Week 2

Welcome to Week 2 of the Perfect 10 Sampler QAL!
This week, I made two Buttered Pecan blocks,
doesn't that sound scrumptious?
This brown print from Autumn Love is one of my favorite prints from the fabric line.
The directions are great in the Perfect 10 quilt book.
I made two of these blocks, they're exactly the same!

I was a little more creative in taking this photo,
it's the Coconut block.
My favorite color is red!

These blocks can be found in the Perfect 10 Quilts book at the Fat Quarter shop.
Their Perfect 10 Creative Grids ruler is "perfect" for cutting the layer cakes too!

Please take a look at these bloggers and see what their
Buttered Pecan and Coconut blocks look like :)

Perfect 10 Sampler quilt along, week 1

I'm sewing this Perfect 10 quilt for the
Perfect 10 Fat Quarter Shop quilt along.
This is the first block, it's called "banana" block.
I thought it would be appropriate to use yellow fabric :)

I'm using Lori Holt's Autumn Love by Riley Blake.
The quilt is made using a layer cake.
I'll be using Cream Gunny Sack for the background
and the red fabric from the same line, for the binding.
Of course, I'll be sewing with white Aurifil thread, my favorite.

This is the Birthday Cake block.
I decided to use pink, which is what I like my birthday cakes to be.
These are really easy blocks to sew.

This is the Perfect 10 quilt, pretty cute!
The blocks all have dessert names, which makes them very yummy.

You can follow my awesome fellow bloggers as they participate
in the Perfect 10 quilt along :)
