Sewcialites quilt finished!

I began my Sewcialites quilt in September 2020 and finished it in September 2021.  I was usually able to make one block a week, but sometimes I fell behind a few weeks.

I used Bonnie and Camille fabrics which I've been saving/hoarding for 10 years, just waiting for the perfect project.  I used Kona white for the background.  I machine quilted it on my Bernina 750QE.  I began in the middle and worked my way out and up and down.  I used a small stipple or jigsaw design on the blocks and sewed a pebble stitch on the white areas.  The quilting is pretty dense or close together.  It took me about 3 days to finish the quilting.  I bound the quilt with leftover fabric from the quilt to give it a scrappy look.

I think my favorite block is the little toy sewing machine designed by my favorite designer, Lori Holt ❤️

Here's a photo of me showing my quilt at my quilt group,
Farm Girl Chicks.

Here's the label I sewed on the back.
I forgot to tell you about this back fabric!  I won it about 5 years ago, it's a Bonnie and Camille print as well.  I won 6 yards of it, plenty for a backing, and a fat quarter bundle of Bonnie and Camille as well :)

These are the fabrics I pulled from my Bonnie and Camille stash to use  in my quilt.  The green polka dot is Pam Kitty fabric, I really needed some more green!

This quilt goes in the grandchildren pile, although I'll have
a difficult time letting go of it...
You can find the patterns on the Fat Quarter Shop's blog, Jolly Jabber.

Sewcialites quilt

I love sew alongs, it's fun to see everyone's version of the blocks and I also work better when I have a deadline.  When fat quarter shop said they were doing the Sewcialites quilt along, I just had to join!

I also met the deadline and finished the quilt top.  I used Bonnie and Camille fabric that I've been hoarding for ten years, lol!  The green fabric with little white dots is Pam Kitty fabric though, I just didn't have enough greens.  I tweaked the outer points a little, I made them look more like stars.  I also decided not to add a white border.

I think my favorite block is Lori Holt's toy sewing machine, it's red towards the bottom.  I really love the block underneath it too, with the heart inside it.  This quilt will probably go into my grandchildren pile.

Snapshots Quilt

post signature
I finally finished my Snapshots quilt from Fat Quarter Shop's quilt along!
I just needed to finish the bottom three blocks, frame them all in red, and add the sashing.
I've really enjoyed making this quilt.
All of the fabric is Bonnie and Camille, by Moda fabric.
I used many different lines and loved matching up the colors and prints.
I'll show you another photo when the quilt is machine quilted and bound.
It's always so great to finish a WIP!

Snapshots QAL - Puppy Love and Kindred Kitchen

I love this Quilt Along!
I don't have any cute little dogs, so I guess this "Puppy Love" block will have to do for now.
I think he's a really sweet little pup :)
I am using Bonnie and Camille fabrics for 98% of my quilt.
I have a small collection of their previous lines and have really enjoyed pulling from my stash to make the blocks.

This block is called Kindred Kitchen, I should really make a life-size apron for myself in these fabrics :)

These are the other blocks I've posted about.
Block #1 is "Let them eat cake", block #2 is "Sew on & Sew on", and block #3 is "Put the kettle on".
I ordered the sashing fabric yesterday, and I might piece the back from leftover fat quarters or yardage :)
You can read more about the Snapshots QAL here, at the Fat Quarter Shop.
They ask for a small donation to benefit St. Jude Children's Hospital.
It's a win/win situation :)

Snapshots QAL, sewing machine

I'm sewing the Snapshots Quilt Along, it's sponsored by the Fat Quarter Shop.

The pattern for the sewing machine was available on February 15.
I used my Alpha Bitties to sort out all the little pieces.
If you are interested in getting some for yourself, you can find them here.

Here's my sewing machine.  I'm using mostly Bonnie and Camille fabric for this quilt, from various lines.
The red fabric in the sewing machine isn't Bonnie and Camille, but the rest is.

Here's my cake block from last month.
I think they look pretty good together :)

I pinned all of the Snapshot QAL information on Pinterest.
There is also a Facebook page devoted to the Snapshots QAL.
It almost feels like a virtual quilting bee, there is lots of excitement about this quilt :)

post signatureI'm looking forward to March 15 when the "kettle" block is available!
