Lined Drawstring bags full of treats!

post signature
I made 7 lined travel bags, from the tutorial at In Color Order.
I have made a countless number of these bags over the years.
I finally bought the pattern, there are 8 sizes of bags available, and Jeni even gives you the formula to make a bag with your own dimensions!

I'm leaving for Africa today, I made all these bags for gifts.
My daughter in law Mabulane is from Lesotho, and I will finally get to meet her family!
These gifts are for her dad, 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
Each bag will hold a bag of pistachio nuts (they don't have them there) and Bath and Body hand soap.

I hope they like them!

Lined Drawstring Bags

I love these cute lined drawstrings bag, I posted about them here
a few weeks ago.
You can find the tutorial for the bag here.
Isn't this vintage cartoon sewing fabric darling?

I tried to lay it as flat as I could so you can read it the captions.

I've been saving this fabric for a special project.

I put a bright, sunshiny yellow inside for the lining.

I think this may be my favorite bag so far!

I chose this fabric combination for another bag.
I made a wall hanging out of this Japanese fabric for my grand daughter, you can see it here.
I made this bag for myself, it will remind me of Kylie :)

I love this style of Japanese art.

So adorable!
I think these polka dots match really well too :)

Do you see what the lining is?

Japanese symbols!
I bought a fat quarter of it but wish I had more.

Here is the little bag, with the drawstrings pulled.
These bags are fun to make, they're quick and they are addicting!

Whenever I see one of these little bags on someone's blog, I pin them.
I have a whole board on Pinterest dedicated to lined drawstring bags.

A Giveaway and a Tutorial!

I have been wanting to make one of these "Lined Drawstring Bags" for a long time, I think they are so cute!
I have a board dedicated to them on Pinterest, here.
Jeni Baker, author of the blog, In Color Order designed the pattern, and you can find it on her blog.
The bag pattern can be made in many sizes, but the smallest size is written as a tutorial and can be found here.

I decided to try out my new sewing machine, and I made 4 Lined Drawstring Bags :)
This is the fabric I chose for the first bag, it's from a Mary Engelbreit line.

I love it, and it was fun and easy to make!

One of the things I love about this bag, is that it's completely lined.

I liked the bag so much, that I made another one in blue.

Oh, how sweet!

Now there are two :)

I looked through my stash and found this combination.
Riley Blake chevron, Anna Maria Horner and Sandy Gervais.
Instead of using fabric for the drawstrings, I used some twill tape.

There is too much light in this photo, sorry.
This bag pattern can be addicting...

Doesn't the green chevron pair well with the bright pink?

There's that pretty lining, it's almost a shame to hid it!

I had time to make one more, Little Apples by Aneela Hooey.

I have a thing for red and aqua together, and children themes.

Each side is different from the other.

I like the lining, it's from the "Red Riding Hood line".

I made 4 lined drawstring bags in two evenings.

I'm offering this bag in the giveaway!!!
I hope you love it as much as I do :)
