Tablet and keyboard holder

post signature
My son asked me to make him a case that would hold his mini iPad and keyboard.
I had the best time choosing the fabric, but a difficult time with the dimensions.
I added a boxed bottom, and couldn't really envision the extra fabric to add for it.
I used the same tutorial that I have used to make many other tablet holders.
I found it on  Pinterest,  here.

He wanted a zipper pocket to put his earphones and charger.

He loves the "write your own story..." tab!

I chose a blue fabric for the inside, and picked the blue zipper to match.
It sits on the table because of the box bottom.

These are my calculations!
In the end, the case came out a little smaller than I anticipated, but everything fits just right.

What I've Been Working On

My daughter received a Samsung tablet for Christmas over a year ago.
I told her I would make a case for it and finally got around to making it....
I'm not quite that pathetic, her tablet was lost for about 6 months.
One day her little one year old was playing in her bedroom and pulled out the tablet from between the cushions of the chair.
My daughter had looked there so many times, I guess it took the right touch :)

I wanted to make a vintage case, and found this adorable little Japanese print with 1950's style stuffed animals, perfect!
I don't know if she likes it or not, but I LOVE it :)
I chose a cute polka dot for the top of the holder and a teal colored zipper.

This is the back of the case.
Don't you just love those little vintage animals?
Can you tell how much I LOVE it???? Lol!

I've made this tablet case many times, just in different sizes.
Here is the link to the tutorial from Fresh Lemons Modern Quilts.
Liz has excellent tutorials :)
I really like the aqua gingham lining!

The inside pocket has a polka dot lining.
This is such an easy case to make, I recommend it.

I'm very fortunate to belong to a virtual quilt bee, The Bees Knees a Quilting Bee.
April Rosenthal sent me this fabric with her new pattern, and I put it together and sent it to her.
The colors and prints are so interesting :)

I'm working on lots of projects right now, but they just aren't complete enough to show you yet.
Have a wonderful week and I'll see you next Monday :)

A Princess iPad case and tutorial link

I made a portable DVD player holder for a little girl, it had the same measurements as my iPad.
The tutorial can be found at Fresh Lemons quilts.
These are the prints I chose.

Here is the finished iPad case.

Isn't the closure tab the cutest?  It's Aneela Hooey's "Posy".

Look at the little girl reading a book on the under side of the tab.

Here's a little close up of her.

This is the back of the iPad case.

The inside of the pocket has more princess dresses with a blue background.
These cases are very easy to make and don't take much time either.
They would be a good item to make and sell at an etsy site.

I Am A Lucky Girl !

I have pinned a few ipad cover tutorials onto Pinterest.
This is my favorite one.
The tutorial can be found at Fresh Lemons Quilts.

iPad cover tutorial

I decided to make one for myself.

Isn't it darling?  I love "Walk in the Woods" fabric by Aneela Hooey.  I thought this would be the perfect project to show off "little red".  The top is covered with little toadstools.
Unzip the zipper to reveal the gray lining and a full sized pocket from the top of the case to the bottom.

Inside the bag is a pretty pink lining.

Isn't this beautiful?

All pictures look incredible on this ipad with its HD resolution.
I am a lucky girl because my dear husband took me to the mall, straight to the Apple store and let me pick out my very own ipad.  He always knows how to spoil me.

Thank you Ricky, I have been a lucky girl for 32 years :)
