Jolly Bar 4 QAL, Week Six

 This is the Illumination block. It's very colorful with all the candy canes!  I love the look of red and pink together :)

This is the Zinnia block, I love it!  

I'm really looking forward to seeing all these pretty blocks in the quilt.

Jolly Bar 4 QAL, Week Five

This is the Blueprint block, the largest one.  It measures 27 1/2" square. This block called for some extra fabric (the pink candy cane fabric), because the trim is larger than a Jolly Bar.  Normally, I would have used more vibrant fabric in this block, but there is only so much selection.  I had to be creative!

This is the Stardust block. It's very simple or easy.

jolly Bar 4 QAL, Week Four

This Jolly Bar quilt along is really fun!  I've never worked with Jolly Bars before.  For this Mosaic block, I used the same print in each of the four color ways. I'm curious to see how it goes with the availability of prints towards the end.  I'm just working with 5" X 10" pieces of fabric, so there probably won't be much left towards the end of the blocks. This quilt calls for two Jolly Bars.

 This is the Nutcracker block. I'm being creative with my fabric selections, meaning that there are only so many pieces left.

 I've got some blocks sewn together so you can get an idea as to what the quilt will look like.

One Yard Apron

I made a One Yard Apron, the instructions are by Lori Holt.  Instead of adding two pockets in the front, I added a continuous pocket piece with I divided into four. I made it for my daughter in law who has just become a second grade teacher :) 

Here's a close up of the fabric, alphabet letters and instructions on how to make a pillowcase.  I thought the children would enjoy reading the words. I wonder what she's going to put in all those pockets!

Jolly Bar 4 QAL, week Three

This is the Galway block, very easy. All the blocks are beginner.  It's been fun choosing the colors and prints for the blocks.

This is the Curio block.  I decided to use the Santa prints because the pieces are bigger.
