Lunch Bag tutorial

I have made so many of these "lunch bags" which I use for scripture bags for my grand daughters when they turn 8 and are baptized, for gifts, embroidery projects and just to have fun! You can find Ayumi's tutorial from Pink Penguin here.

This one is for my grand daughter Lucy who was just baptized.  I know that she loves animals of all types but she especially loves bunnies.  I've been looking for cute bunny fabric for a couple of months but haven't found any.  I went to my stash and pulled all the animal fabric I could find, and a couple of bunny prints.

Lucy chose this cute mint green animal fabric which has some bunnies on it.  I then chose fabric to coordinate, and red is Lucy's favorite color.

One of the 8 yer old little girls in my Primary class at church happened to mention that she doesn't have a scripture bag.  I was so excited to make one for her :) I know that her favorite color is yellow.

I made one for my 14 year old grand daughter too, because after taking her scriptures to church every Sunday for 6 years, her bag is looking a little shabby.  Yes, I 'll make each of the girls a new one when they turn 14 if they want one.
This bag is a fashion designer's bag.  I love the cute Japanese fabric with broken grammar and the top part of the bag has scissors all over it. I found a tape measure twill and used it for the ties.

The lining inside the bag has pattern pieces on it!

I would love to keep this bag for myself!

Here's the little girl I made the bag for.  I think she likes it!

You can see some of the bags I've made here, here and here.

We even had a girls night one year with two of my daughters and one daughter in law.  We had a lot of fun, you can see it here.

  1. So many cute bags, Cynthia - and looking back to your 2012 blog post - well, it was so special to see your sweet, little grandchildren long before I started to follow blogs and found my quilting niche :)! Such a cute pattern and fabric choices in all the bags.
